Which watch?

I have a Nordstrom gift card burning a hole in my wallet, and I’ve decided to use it to buy the better part of a Stella watch by Fossil. I’ve narrowed it down to the two options above.

My heart says, “Rose gold! Get the rose gold one! It’s pretty and the color looks better against your pale white/pinkish skin, you Anglo freak!”

But my head says, “Gold! Get the gold one! Gold is more classic and timeless. This rose gold business might just be a fleeting trend! Plus most of your jewelry is gold! And your skin tone does not make you a freak.”

Thanks, head.

But seriously, which one should I get? If you’re reading this, have the decency to comment and help a girl out, would you?

Planning ahead

The Jason Wu for Target collection comes out on February 5th. I just set a reminder for myself on my Google calendar. Because look how cute!!!

I’m pretty sure I have to have that navy and white clutch. And the white dress with the black trim at the bottom. And also everything else.

The collection will supposedly be available at Target until March 6, but I suggest getting in on this action early! Remember Missoni?

Fashion + film = fun

While scanning through my Google Reader last night, I came across a post about ELLE Magazine’s horror movie photo shoot starring the women of Glee and American Horror Story.

Basically, ELLE recreated stills from classic scary movies, none of which I’ve ever seen because I’m the type of person who occasionally hides behind a pillow while watching the Halloween episodes of half-hour sitcoms. Yep.

Anyway, I thought it was cool how the fabulous and opinionated gays over at Tom & Lorenzo posted the photos along with the original movie stills so you can compare.

I think Dianna Agron’s 50 ft .Woman is my favorite. You can see the full post with the rest of the photos here, starring other Glee actresses like Heather Morris and Jayma Mays.

There are also photos of actresses from American Horror Story, but I have no idea who those people are because shows like that are made to destroy people like me. The only thing I could possibly get out of watching something like that is a nice diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder.

Slap #2

Kids, on Saturday night, Will spotted Marshall from How I Met Your Mother (aka Jason Segel) exiting a Bentley with a small entourage, just a couple blocks from our apartment. In honor of this legen…(wait for it)…dary! celebrity sighting, I’d like to share with you one of my favorite Marshall moments.

Planner-palooza

If you’re like me, congrats! You must be awesome. But also, whenever you make an appointment, schedule a meeting or plan a date in advance, you know that typing it into your Gmail calendar, writing it on your wall calendar and updating your smartphone calendar is SIMPLY NOT ENOUGH. You must also enter the event into your day planner.

I know I’d be lost without my planner. And by lost, I mean I would feel an enormous void in my life where a fancy, adorable paper product should be.

I have yet to pick out my 2012 planner, which means I’ve been planner-less for five whole days! Help me decide, won’t you?

Here are the options:

Jonathan Adler Agenda – Flame

Waiting for Tomorrow Day Planner

Cavallini World Map Weekly Planner

Persimmon Datebook

Barbara Wiggins Leather Diary

The gold one at the end is my favorite, but it’s more of a diary than a planner. Also, the price on the website is in Euros, so that just makes things more math-y and complicated. But I can’t get away from the idea that every girl deserves to have a magical gold book in her purse…

Tea for three

One great thing about working at an ad agency is that we don’t have to work the entire week between Christmas and New Year’s. So my days last week were spent shopping, going out to lunch, watching movies, catching up with friends and doing other activities of a similarly awesome nature.

Ahhh last week… those were the good ol’ days.

On Wednesday, my mom, my sister and I had afternoon tea at The Drake Hotel like fancy ladies. We did fancy lady things like eat scones and tiny sandwiches with no crusts and stick our pinkies in the air. It was wonderful, I tell you, just delightful!

After tea, we strolled Michigan Avenue, did some shopping at Nordstrom and enjoyed an early evening cocktail at Fleming’s. In short, it was the perfect day and I want to be a fancy lady forever.

Anyone know where I can purchase a mink stole?
