February Photo a Day: Catching up

Since I forgot to post yesterday, you get two photos today!

Yesterday’s photo: Makes me happy

I finally have the third Hunger Games book in my possession! (Thanks to my sister who lent it to me.) I read the first book over the summer, so it’s about time I find out how this whole thing ends.

Today’s photo: Inside my closet

Uggh. My closet is actually bigger than it looks here, but my clothes are still crammed in there pretty good. The idea of a walk-in closet is almost tempting enough to consider a move to the suburbs. Almost…

February Photo a Day: Front door

Obviously I’m bending the rules a little here – this is not a photo.

But it is our front door.

I happened to stumble upon this painting by Josh Moulton one day last year as I was casually surfing the internet. I have to tell you, it’s kind of weird to be mindlessly gazing at artwork online and then – wait a minute! That’s MY house!

So of course I purchased a print. And if you’d also like a print or a painting of my house (or other cool scenes in Chicago and elsewhere), head over to Josh Moulton’s website. The guy’s got talent!

February Photo a Day: Sun

image

If it wasn’t for those scraggly leafless tree branches, I could probably tell you that this photo was taken in the middle of summer and you’d never know the difference.

Unless you got all inquisitive and asked what time of day it was taken and figured out that the Sun is too low in the sky for a summer day. In which case I would become extremely offended and start yelling, “What the hell is wrong with you!? Don’t you TRUST me??”

You really know how to push my buttons, don’t you?

P.S. If you’re wondering why there was no February Photo a Day post yesterday, it was because the topic was “button.” I took a picture of the buttons on my sweater, but it was just so boring. SO boring! I started to post it and promptly fell asleep. So I decided to not waste your time with that one.

February Photo a Day: 10 am

At 10 am this morning, I was drinking coffee and lamenting over the fact that none of the Jason Wu for Target clothes or accessories that came out today are available in my size online. NONE.

You know how excited I was about this.

Oh well. I don’t have time to sit here and stew (anymore). Some of our friends are coming over for the Super Bowl, so I must dry my tears, clean the apartment, take a shower and then drown my sorrows in a delicious mimosa.

(Please note that I am being overly dramatic. I promise I’m not crying over this. I’m not even really stewing. That much.)

February Photo a Day: A stranger

Let’s just get something out there: it’s really hard to take a picture on your phone in the city without feeling like a tourist or some sort of creep. And when you’re trying to take a picture of a stranger, that creep factor is amplified.

I nonchalantly snapped this photo of several strangers on the Merchandise Mart brown line platform on my way home from work last Thursday.

My rendition of “nonchalantly” means looking around furtively and quietly humming to myself. Which may not seem all that discreet to you, but public transportation is rampant with weirdos, so I blended right in.

I know it’s blurry, but I amped up the saturation a little, and it kind of looks a little like a painting, no?

February Photo a Day: Words

So the inspiration for today is “words?”

Oh, I GOT this one. Words are my job. I make words my b!tch! (You know, because I’m an editor/copywriter. And sorry if you’re offended by my censored language. Being this bad-ass makes me a little uncomfortable. Now I feel the need to end this post with a smiley face.)

🙂
